After finishing college, I came to Japan right away. Though I was still drawing and painting constantly, I felt like I wanted to do more...
Around my first "anniversary" in Japan, I decided to get my first tattoo. I went to Mana at BOOBIES tattoo studio and asked for a large Japanese style bird on my ribs. Three sessions and 7 hours later I was totally hooked.

Several months later, When my coworker Kate went back home to America, she offered me her position at RYUJI TATTOO DESIGN. I was incredibly excited! Here was my chance to put everything I've learned to good use. I couldn't believe what a natural fit tattooing was for me--it was like everything I'd been practicing was leading me up to this point.

In tattoos, I especially love bold, flowing designs that compliment the natural shapes of the human body. My lifelong interest in mythology and symbology helps me compose images that are full of meaning. I think the perfect tattoo design should radiate both sensitivity and power.
